The City of Mission has two water treatment plants. The newest water treatment plant, the North Water Plant was built in 1996, expanded in 2005 and is located at 2801 N. Holland. It is a state of the art, computerized water treatment facility that can produce 17.5 million gallons of water daily. South of Business 83 at 514 Perkins is the location of the South Water Plant. This plant has 3 filtration units that were built in 1926, 1946 and 1965. The total treatment capacity of the South Water Plant is 8 million gallons daily. Combined, the North and South Water Plants can produce 25.5 million gallons daily and in a year will treat approximately 9.3 billion gallons of water for our customers.
Infrastructure and Equipment:
Two Water Plants combined — total treatment 25.5 MGD, 29 pumps and motors, 6 elevated water towers storing a total of 4 million gallons elevated storage and 6 million gallons of ground storage. Total water storage is 10 MGD.
