The Mission Police Department’s K-9 Unit was started on January 12, 1990. The K-9 team currently consists of one supervisor and four officers each partnered up with their own K-9.
The Mission Police Department’s K-9 Unit responds to assist with the Patrol Bureau and C.I.D. when necessary. K-9 Units are also deployed upon calls for assistance with other local, stat, and federal agencies. The K-9 Teams are used for a wide array of tasks, which include drug detection, locating fleeing suspects, missing persons, explosive detection, crime scene evidence and missing articles. Our K-9 Program has proven to be very beneficial and successful.
