Congratulations to our Mission Fire Department’s, Richard A. Cruz, who has been promoted from Lieutenant to the rank of Captain! Captain Cruz has been with the Department for 8 years, and will now be the training Captain for the Mission Fire Department.
Mission residents filled sandbags at one of the City’s three locations in preparation for Hurricane Harvey.
The City of Mission congratulates Mr. Robert Rivera on his 30 years of service to our City! Rivera began working for the City of Mission in 1987, and worked his way through the ranks – serving the City in a number of capacities. Most recently, Mr. Rivera worked at our Speer Memorial Library where he will be missed as a mentor, friend, and coworker! We wish Mr. Rivera the best in his retirement!
Our Mission Police Department and Mission CISD held a Bus Safety Event to remind drivers about bus safety laws. We thank the media for covering the event to help spread the message and keep our school children safe!

HEBuddy made a stop at our final Movie Night on the Lawn of our Mission Historical Museum to donate school supplies! Thank you to everyone who took part in our weekly event and helped make it possible! We hope to see you again next year!
Thanks to the Community – including residents, businesses, and an army of volunteers – thousands of Mission CISD students are ready to go back to school with a backpack full of school supplies!
Thank you to the Community for a successful National Night Out as we work to promote police and citizen camaraderie in the City of Mission!
Our Mission Police Officers proclaim Tuesday, August 1st, to be National Night Out in the City of Mission! On that evening, residents are invited to join us at our Leo Peña Placita Park for the 22nd Annual National Night Out as Police and the Community unite to stomp out crime in Mission! Enjoy entertainment, kiddie rides, food booths, and raffles. Plus, our Mission Crime Stoppers will hand out free school supplies! 6PM to 10PM, Tuesday, August 1st. See you there!
