Mission students are learning computer coding at our Mission EDC’s CEED building! Thank you to AT&T and U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) for supporting our youth programs! Guests to our Mission Historical Museum’s Nostalgic Christmas Luncheon enjoyed entertainment from Ralph Kuster – as he performed favorites from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley! Thank you to the students from Bryan Elementary who stopped by our Speer Memorial Library to share Christmas carols with visitors! Thanks to our Boys and Girls Club of Mission and its Board of Volunteers – hundreds of elementary students in Mission will have Christmas presents this year – after the Club delivered bags of toys to Mission children! Thank you to everyone in our Community who is donating to our Kops for Kids Toy Drive! Residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys at our Mission Police Department, or any Mission Walgreens location, until December 21st – the day of our Kops for Kids event! Mission TX – Christmas Tree Lighting 2016 More than 100 children went home with free bikes and toys, Mission CISD students and local organizations showcased their talents in front of their hometown, families took pictures with Santa Claus, and THE TREE WAS LIT! Thank you, Citizens of Mission, for another great Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration! Mission Police Officers gathered outside our Mission Police Department to teach parents how to properly install and utilize car seats. Studies show 80% of child restraints are used incorrectly. Officers also handed out car seats to parents who needed them. Check out all of the City of Mission Employees who have November birthdays! Our HR Department threw them a birthday celebration. We are thankful for our City Employees and wish them a Happy Birthday! Our Mission Firefighters are taking part in Fire Truck Training – maneuvering through obstacles and practicing driving safety techniques. Safely getting to and from calls is a top priority.
