Our Mission Fire Department, in conjunction with the Special Olympics Rio Grande Valley Division, held its Annual Truck-Pull Fundraiser – raising a total of $8000! Mission TX – Mission Crime Stoppers Red Ribbon Week Presentation Visitors to our Speer Memorial Library met local paranormal investigators and learned about the tools they use and experiences they’ve had in the RGV! As part of Red Ribbon Week, our Mission Crime Stoppers spoke to students at Mission CISD’s Pearson Elementary about the dangers of drugs. Mission TX – City Council Meeting 10/24/2016 Our Mayor Beto Salinas and Mission City Council urge all citizens of Mission to honor our Veterans on the upcoming Veterans Day – November 11th – by recognizing the valor, sacrifice, and volunteerism of our Veterans through ceremonies and prayers. Our Mission Historical Museum’s Dia de los Muertos Festival was a night of culture and celebration! Mission TX – $1 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Kids in Mission are ready for our upcoming Halloween Family Festival at the Booseum after debuting their costumes at our Speer Memorial Library’s Annual Costume Contest! “Our crime rate is one of the best in Texas and across the U.S. and I applaud my officers for that. We have a great responsibility to our citizens. In the next several months, you will see 8 more police officers in the City of Mission.” – Mission Police Chief Robert Dominguez commenting on Mission’s $1 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, as U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) delivered the check to the City of Mission. Listen to Dr. David Bowles’ chilling tales from his book “Ghosts of the Rio Grande Valley.” HEB’s Lone Star Living Bouquet surprised our employees at Mission City Hall with bouquets of flowers as part of #Petalitforward! The “Petal It Forward” project intends to spread happiness with flowers. Flower recipients receive two bouquets – one to keep and the second to “petal” forward.
