Our City of Mission Mayor and City Council proclaim November 19th as “Great American Smoke out Day” in Mission. The Tobacco Prevention & Control Coalition in Hidalgo County is partnering with the American Cancer Society – RGV to raise awareness for the annual “Great American Smokeout.” The event is aimed at the 42 million Americans who currently smoke. They are encouraged to quit smoking — for at least ONE day. The City of Mission supports the effort and hopes it will deliver awareness in our community about the dangers of smoking. We love it when residents send us photos of dogs they adopted through our City of Mission Adopt-A-Pet Program. Thank you for giving “Wendy” a forever home! Our City of Mission’s Shary Golf Course hosted the annual Superintendent’s Golf Tournament.
