Mission City Manager Martin Garza and Police Chief Robert Dominguez were proud to take part in McAllen’s Pearl Harbor Remembrance program at the Veterans War Memorial of Texas. We had a great time at our City of Mission Annual Christmas Tree Lighting! Hundreds of children met Santa, and dozens left with new toys and bikes donated to our raffle. We will hand out over 1000 toys to more than 350 families in need at our Toy Give-a-way on Friday, December 18, at our Mission Police Department. Our Mayor, City Council, City Manager, Fire, Police, Crime Stoppers, and City Staff distributed the meals door to door on Tuesday, November the 24th. The families will be able to prepare a traditional meal, with all of the fixings, on Thanksgiving Day. Our Speer Memorial Library’s Give ‘N Gobble Turkey Trot was a success! The Library collected a number of non-perishable items, as part of the 5K’s entry fee, and these will go to families in need in our community.
