Our Boys and Girls Club of Mission held an award ceremony and performance to end its successful Summer Cheer Camp! Family in Blue held a Prayer Vigil for our First Responders. Mission TX – City Council Meeting 08/08/2016 The City of Mission Office of Emergency Management conducted an all-day all-hazard workshop and exercise to train our City Staff to handle hazards and emergencies – including natural disasters (such as hurricanes), manmade disasters, and terroristic events. The Rotary Club of Mission presented a banner of support to our Mission Police Department – thanking local law enforcement for serving our Community! Community members gathered outside our Mission Police Department as Family in Blue held a prayer vigil for our first responders. Mission City Leaders helped distribute backpacks filled with school supplies at our Mission CISD’s Annual Back to School Bash! Thanks to the many community members for their donations to ensure more than 2,000 Mission students will be ready to start the school year! A mother and daughter dancing duo from the Yucatan region of Merida is demonstrating and teaching some of the Ancient Mayan dance routines to the kids in our Mission Parks and Recreation Ballet Folkloric! Mission TX – National Night Out 2016 We had a great time at our Mission Police Department’s 21st Annual National Night Out! National Night Out is an annual community-building event to promote police-community involvement in an effort to make our City a safer and better place to live. We would like to give a special thanks to KRGV’s Letty Garza for emceeing Mission’s National Night Out! Sisters, Mar y Sol, made a stop at our City Hall and Mission Police Department! The two boxer mixes, believed to be around two months old, are ready for adoption! Mission residents joined our Boys and Girls Club of Mission at its MISSION FIT BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT! Money raised at the Fun Run, Zumba and Self-defense classes helped raise money for school supplies for Mission students!
