It reads “Your Mission Starts Here.” The statement is made up of every City of Mission Employee! Our Mission EDC held an inauguration of Mission’s dynamic new CEED facility! The Center for Education and Economic Development will create an Entrepreneurial, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (E-STEAM) ecosystem in the City of Mission, which will lead to more sustainable businesses and a 21st Century ready workforce! Mission Mayor Beto Salinas and City Council congratulate all of our Mission participants who took part in the 2016 T.A.A.F. Summer Games of Texas! Our Mayor Beto Salinas and Mission City Manager Martin Garza attended a ceremony at the Anzalduas International Bridge – The Bridge will now take southbound empty trucks. Local History Enthusiast Robert Ramirez took visitors to our Mission Historical Museum on a journey back in time – with his free presentation on “Ranch Life in Hidalgo County after 1850.” Ramirez gave guests an account of the daily life, traditions and dynamics of ranching life in Hidalgo County in the late nineteenth century. Mission TX – Speer Memorial Library’s mosquito borne illnesses Thank you to the Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Chief Admistrative Officer, Eduardo Olivarez, for presenting a Zika Virus Prevention Talk at our Speer Memorial Library. The event was free and informative. Our City of Mission Adopt-A-Pet Program has a new featured pet! If you would like to adopt this Labrador Mix, believed to be 2 months old, please call 580-8741. Our Boys and Girls Club of Mission held an award ceremony and performance to end its successful Summer Cheer Camp!
