Continue reading » April 15, 2016 Mission Police Investigator Romeo Ortega, with our Mission Crime Stoppers Program, gave a drug awareness presentation to teachers at Sharyland Pioneer High School – educating them on the current drug trends and providing the teachers with tools to encourage students to think critically about how drugs and drug abuse can affect them today and the choices they make for tomorrow. Restoring Hope” — highlights the importance of early intervention and victim services in establishing trust with victims, which in turn begins to restore their hope for healing and recovery. You can expect to see several more varieties of butterflies throughout the City, soon! It’s all part of a project headed by the Upper Valley Art League. The City of Mission contributed to the local art league who, through volunteers, created the butterflies to be displayed outside various City buildings and our Downtown. We hope you enjoy this beautification project! Mission will be donating the ambulance to our Sister City of Salinas Victoria, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Continue reading » April 12, 2016 Our City of Mission Fire and Police Departments displayed their new equipment to Mayor Beto Salinas and our Mission City Council. All of the equipment, purchased through grants, will be used to better protect and serve our Community. The Police Department used Federal grants to purchase ATV’s that will allow them better access to remote or otherwise inaccessible areas, while the Fire Department used a grant provided by Firehouse Subs to purchase a fleet of bikes for its Bicycle Rescue Team.
