The City of Mission held a Firefighter Badge Pinning Ceremony to recognize four of our Mission Firefighters who have moved up the ladder with recent promotions.
Firefighter Robert Villalon completed his one year probation and received his Firefighter Badge, collar devices and helmet. Frank Chaires was promoted to Captain. The City of Mission is proud to host the “13.1 Chick-Fil-A RGV Half-Marathon” at our Mission Event Center on Saturday, December 8th!
Over 750 people have registered to take part in this inaugural Half-Marathon, which is scheduled to start at 7AM, and even more people are expected to join in cheering them on. Former Mission City Manager Martin Garza enjoyed his last staff meeting with our City of Mission Directors at City Hall.
Garza will be handing over the duties to our Acting Interim Mission City Manager Randy Perez. Our Directors thanked CM Garza for his many years of dedicated leadership to the City of Mission, and are grateful for being left in good hands with AICM Perez.
