In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, here’s a picture of a delicious cheeseburger served at our Shary Municipal Golf Course! 😋🍔 Play a round and grab a bite, daily. 🏌🏻♀️🏌🏿♂️ If weather (rain/wind) permits, the City of Mission Health Department will be spraying for mosquitos every evening beginning at 10PM. Please call 580-8741 if there is an area you would like to report for spraying. The City of Mission is working with the Hidalgo Co. Drainage District to bring a workshop to Mission to allow the District to explain to our Council and Mission Residents the purpose of the upcoming bond election and how it impacts our area. The City of Mission activated its Emergency Operation Center in preparation of possible rain and flooding. During times of City-wide Emergencies, our Severe Incident Call Center receives calls at 580 8766. The City-wide Emergency is no longer active and our Office of Emergency Management has since returned to normal, but continues to monitor any and all weather activities. During City-wide emergency situations, such as the recent floods, the City of Mission urges all citizens to call the SEVERE INCIDENT CALL CENTER. Residents are encouraged to use this Call Center to report non-life threatening emergencies such as flooding, trees down, power outages, sewer back-ups, etc. During City-wide emergencies, staff will be responsive and available 24/7 to answer the calls and dispatch personnel to the reported locations. The number to call during City-wide emergencies is: 956 580 8766. We will post this number and incident updates on our social media sites throughout the duration of the City-wide emergency. For those in LIFE THREATENING situations – ALWAYS CALL 9-1-1. With the continued threat of flash flooding through the weekend, the City of Mission prepared its Emergency Operation Center. Mission TX – City Council Meeting 09/10/2018 The City of Mission and our Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce held a Meet and Greet for Mission CISD Superintendent Dr. Carol G. Perez and Sharyland ISD Superintendent Dr. Maria Vidaurri at our Mission Event Center. It was an opportunity to facilitate dialogue between City and School Leaders and foster future collaborations. Due to the weather, the Camara de Comercio Internacional’s upcoming Grito De Independencia has been CANCELLED. The City of Mission has extended its sandbag distribution to EVERY DAY, 9AM – 9PM, through Friday, Sept 14th: Jaycee Park (Los Ebanos Road & Barnes St.), Lions Park (1500 Kika de la Garza Loop), Ray Landry Fireman’s Park (906 Canal). Limit is 6 bags per household and 10 bags per commercial bldg. Must have ID showing proof of Mission residency. Shovels are provided, but residents can bring their own to expedite the process.
