Mission City Leaders took part in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of Mims Elementary’s Mustangville – as the students showcased their micro society!
-
The minitropolis of Mustangville functions every Friday when students perform jobs and tasks, such as paying taxes, balancing finances and spending money at the local stores. Mustangville has its own bank, treasury, IRS, post office and several stores, including Wal-Mart - where children work to earn “Mustang Bucks.” Fifth graders fill the positions of mayor, city council, fire firefighters, and other City positions. The purpose of Mustangville is to teach students real-life experience at a young age.
