The City of Mission recently donated vehicles to our Sister Cities in Mexico. The purpose of the Sister City Program is to foster a bond between people from different communities and cultures and to celebrate and appreciate those differences. Mission donated the vehicles because they were no longer of service to our City, but of great necessity to our Sister Cities: The City of Francisco I. Madero, Coahuila, received an International Dump Truck. The City of Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, received a Ford F-250 Truck. The City of San Fernando, Tamaulipas, received a Chevy Truck. The City of Mission Mayor and City Council passed a comprehensive Smoke-Free Ordinance – voting for a Smoke-Free Mission. Ronald McDonald visited kids at our Speer Memorial Library – teaching our Mission youth about friendship, cooperation, and anti-bullying! A special thanks to 8 year old, Joey Bazan, who saved up all year to donate his money to the Ronald McDonald House! Joey makes Mission Proud! Thank you to all of the sponsors and participants of our Mission Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament!
