Crews lowered our Bannworth Park lake levels, while installing a new irrigation system. The City is installing a system that will utilize canal water to irrigate. Crews had to drop the lake levels about 4 feet to place a new pipe. Levels should return to normal on Tuesday.

Our Mission Fire Department is selling Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirts for $15. Proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. You can pick up a shirt at Mission City Hall (1201 E. 8th St.) every weekday from 9am-11am, until the end of October.

PARENTS: Our Boys and Girls Club of Mission is registering for basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football AND looking for volunteer coaches.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the City of Mission held its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon. We hold the luncheon for our City employees – to remind them about the importance of prevention, early detection and intervention.

Thank you to the HUNDREDS of citizens who joined us at our Mission Fire Department’s Open House! We appreciate the support of the community as the City kicks off “Fire Prevention Month.” Mission Firefighters will spend the month of October visiting Mission schools, teaching children and the public about fire safety.

RESIDENTS: Mission to hold an “E-Waste and Household Paint Recycling Collection” event.

Do you have old paint/cell phones/chargers/etc. sitting around your house? Mission will be having an “E-WASTE AND HOUSEHOLD PAINT RECYCLING COLLECTION EVENT.” Bring your recyclable items this Saturday (Oct. 10th), to the Walmart on Expressway 83 & Shary Rd. Here’s a list of what you can bring:
