The City of Mission secures a $500,000 grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to enhance the lives of our residents.

The City of Mission will use its grant to construct a Tennis Center in Birdwell Park (N Stewart Rd) that will serve Mission & Sharyland school districts & promote a healthy, active lifestyle for our residents. Following the Ribbon Cutting of our Mission Event City, the City of Mission held its first event at the facility – with a Retirement Ceremony to honor two of Mission’s Finest: Mission Fire Deputy Chief Ricardo Balderas for his 35 years of service, and Mission Police Assistant Chief Jose A. “Tony” Garcia for his 36 years of service! We thank each of our Mission Chiefs for dedicating their life service to our City and citizens!
