Mission PD hosting press conference on domestic violence

The Mission Police Department will kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month with a Press Conference at the CEED building on Monday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.

“Domestic Violence Awareness Month is an opportunity to remind the community that the Mission Police Department is here and available to support victims and survivors,” Police Chief Cesar Torres said. “Often times, domestic violence is not talked about or is kept behind closed doors, but we want to shine a light on this issue and strengthen our community’s awareness of available resources.”

Partnering agencies like Mujeres Unidas, the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office Domestic Violence Unit, Easterseals RGV, RGV Empowerment Zone and Angels of Love will also be in attendance.
