Freshman, sophomore and junior girls in the City of Mission are vying for 5 spots in the new Mission Duchesses Competition.

 

The girls are competing for:

Duchess of Pomelo Grapefruit

Duchess of Honey Dew

Duchess of White Marsh Grapefruit

Duchess of Butterfly

Duchess of All-America City/Star Ruby Grapefruit.

 

The contestants had to submit an essay, present a speech, and will also be judged on their Sunday’s best attire. The winners will then represent the City of Mission in the Texas Citrus Fiesta Queen Citrianna pageant.

The event is being held at the Mission Event Center on Sunday, Oct. 2. Crowning is at 5 p.m., doors open at 4:30 p.m.
