Street Dedication in Honor of PFC. Bourbois
The City of Mission commemorated a fallen military hero with a street dedication on April 14, 2022. The roadway on Doherty Avenue from E. 1st Street northward to 8th Street is now Roberto A. Bourbois Street.
Pfc. Bourbois died in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines on Nov. 2, 1944 in World War II. He was a native of Mission and had been overseas for 9 months when he was killed in action.
