Thanksgiving is a time to count our blessings and the perfect time to give back. Mission Crime Stoppers hosted their annual Turkey Giveaway and helped 200 families. Crime Stoppers hosted the event in partnership with the City of Mission, Mission Police Department and the RGV Food Bank. The preselected families received a turkey and all the trimmings. It’s better to give than to receive!
A low pressure system over the Gulf of Mexico has become better organized and is expected to become a tropical depression or tropical storm according to the NHC. At this point, it’s uncertain where this potential tropical system may head, but we want to be ready in Mission. A self-serve sandbag distribution is set for tomorrow and Saturday for Mission residents.
The Mission Police Department and our entire community is in mourning following the loss of an officer due to complications from COVID-19. A procession was held tonight from Mission Regional to Ric Brown Funeral Home to honor the veteran of the force. #MissionStrong #BlueFamily #ThankYouForYourService
