Mission PD hosting police & fire memorial service

The City of Mission Police Department will commemorate National Police Week with a Police and Fire Memorial Ceremony on Monday, May 16, 2022.

“We invite all Texas Peace Officers, survivors, and friends to be part of this special memorial event,” Mission Police Chief Cesar Torres said. “Our organization will pay tribute to Mission Police Officers Jose Luis “Speedy” Espericueta Jr., Jorge Cabrera, Humberto Javier Avila and Fulgencio Velasco III. We will also recognize the numerous first responders across our country who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.”

The public is invited to join Mission city leaders and first responders as they honor the brave law enforcement officers and firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Local law enforcement agencies will also join Mission officers and firefighters in honoring the heroes lost.
