The City of Mission enjoyed giving the Texas Tropical Trail Region a tour of our City’s highlights – including visits to our Mission Historical Museum, La Lomita Chapel and William Jennings Bryan house. The Texas Tropical Trail Region is a participant in the Texas Historical Commission’s Texas Heritage Trails Program and strives to identify, preserve, interpret, and promote the natural, historic, and cultural resources of our beautiful South Texas.

We would like to give a shout-out to our Mission Volunteer Firefighter, Rene Pena, for rescuing the puppy in this picture! A young man walked into Mission’s Central Fire station with the puppy, who had gotten his head stuck inside the wheel of a lawn mower. Firefighter Pena was able to carefully remove the entrapped puppy using cutters. Thankfully, the puppy was not injured and is doing fine!
