Our City of Mission Mayor and City Council recognize the dedication and hard work of our Mission, La Joya and Sharyland School Board Members – and proclaim the month of January to be “School Board Recognition Month” in the City of Mission. We appreciate all that these men and women do for the children of our Community!

City of Mission Residents can drop-off their Christmas trees at our Sanitation Department, located at 105 Abelino Farias Street, Monday through Saturday (8AM-5PM), throughout the month of January. Mission will recycle the trees for mulch.

Film crews from A&E’s “Live PD” are following our Mission Police Officers. Our Mission Police Department is proud to represent the Rio Grande Valley and the entire State of Texas in the new police documentary series on A&E. Live PD airs Fridays at 8PM on A&E.

Oscar Garza, a beloved public servant of Mission, tragically died in an auto-pedestrian accident, Thursday morning. We ask the Community to keep the Garza family in your prayers.

Mission children take part in a $10,000 dollar shopping spree at Target!

More than 100 kids in Mission took part in the $10,000 dollar shopping spree with Mission Police Officers and Firefighters at Target! Target provided 100 children, $100 dollars worth of Christmas toys each, for a total of $10,000 dollars!
