RESIDENTS: In an effort to rid the City of mosquitoes, Mission Sanitation Crews will be picking-up abandoned tires throughout the City.
Abandoned tires provide breeding pools for mosquitoes. To help, residents can drop-off abandoned tires at our Sanitation Department (105 Abelino Farias), or call the Sanitation Department at 956-583-2564 to report tires that need to be removed. Our Mission Police Department has increased its fleet by four!
City leaders unveiled four new Tahoes our officers will be using to patrol the streets. A Federal grant provided for three of the Tahoes – All of them will be used to better protect and serve our great community. -
In preparation for Spring Break, students at our Sharyland Pioneer High School held a mock drunk driving crash.
The purpose of the mock crash was to show students the consequences of choosing to drink and drive. Our Mission Police and Fire Departments took part in the mock crash, along with District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez, Jr, Texas DPS, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Both Mission Pools will be closed Monday, February 20th, for President’s Day. Bannworth Pool will also be closed Saturday, February 25th, for a swim meet. -
The City of Mission held its annual Mega Winter Texan Fiesta at our Leo Peña Placita Park to celebrate and recognize our RGV Winter Residents!
