Investigator Jose Espericueta received the Meritorious Service Award for entering a burning house to rescue an elderly man who was still inside. After a citizen alerted Investigator Espericueta to the fire, the Investigator did not hesitate to risk his own life to save the life of another.

Officer Randy Cody Davila and Officer Francisco Garza received the Meritorious Service Award for their role in tracking down and rescuing an injured young man who had been attacked and was lost and stranded in the brush along the Rio Grande River. After a search, the Officers were able to find the juvenile and give him medical attention.
