SPEER MEMORIAL LIBRARY TO HOST AUTHOR JIMMIE ODOM’S NOVEL ‘SLUMP MONKEY’

Saturday July 19, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the library’s community room.  The author is excited to share his first novel with the public.  The event is free and open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend

Jimmie Odom, retired firefighter, just published his first novel, a story about the son of an oil field worker with nothing but long days and tough shores ahead of him until a beautiful, mysterious girl slams, into his life, changing it forever.
Odom has written all his life, in poems, lines and stream of consciousness observations.  The idea for his novel came about as many of his ideas do, on a road trip with his wife Penny.
