Mission to forge ties with Mazatlán

The City of Mission is gearing up to sign a sister city agreement with Mazatlán, a Mexican town along the Pacific shoreline in the state of Sinaloa. The signing will take place Wed. Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Mission Event Center.

“Together, Mission and Mazatlán will work to stimulate economic growth, promote tourism and encourage cultural interactions through our newest sister city relationship,” Mayor Dr. Armando O’Caña said. “We look forward to this new friendship and it goes beyond signing a paper. This conveys genuine ties and a significant partnership with our friends across the border.”

The signing with the Mazatlán delegation will be Mission’s 29th sister city agreement. Social distancing and face masks are encouraged.
