Businesses urged to sign up for Mission’s THRIVE program – Program will encourage vaccinations and stimulate local economy

The City of Mission is preparing to launch its THRIVE program to encourage Mission residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19, but they need the assistance of local business owners.  The City is NOW accepting applications from locally-owned Mission businesses to participate in the THRIVE program, or Together Helping Recover an Independent and Valued Economy, which is funded by federal COVID-19 recovery funds.

“This is a win-win for our entire community. We are helping our citizens, and our local businesses,” Mayor Dr. Armando O’Caña said. “People can choose to use their cards at a number of local businesses that are part of the THRIVE network. We really need our Mission business community to step forward and get signed up to be part of this program.”

To become part of the THRIVE network, businesses must meet the following requirements:

  • Locally-owned business within Mission city limits
  • W-9
  • Proof of City of Mission issued business license
  • Business contact information

Local businesses wishing to participate may submit the requested information to thrive@missiontexas.us to receive their unique participation application.

The City will soon be offering gift cards to residents to encourage vaccinations. Those gift cards will be redeemable to the small, local businesses that sign up for this program. Details on how to receive a THRIVE gift card will be announced at a later date for Mission residents. For more information on the THRIVE program, please visit https://missiontexas.us/thrive/
