Final touches underway for 90th Annual Parade of Oranges in Mission – Road closures set for the Texas Citrus Fiesta event

The Texas Citrus Fiesta Parade of Oranges has grown to become one of the largest parades in South Texas, an annual tradition that attracts thousands of people. In addition to its signature floats made of citrus fruit, the parade features spirited marching bands, exhilarating dance performances, spectacular citrus-themed pageant gowns, and a royal court.

The stunning event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. The parade begins at Griffin Parkway and runs south on Conway Avenue and ends at 1st Street. Mission Police will close all streets along the parade route in phases, beginning at 8 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade. Spectators are advised to exercise caution along Conway Ave., and to steer clear of any marked and coned-off areas. Masks are recommended and patrons are advised to follow social distancing guidelines.

The annual Texas Citrus Fiesta Fun Fair which includes concerts, arts, crafts and food vendors will take place on Friday, Jan. 28 from 6pm-midnight and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight at Leo Peña Placita Park, on Bus. 83 & Conway Ave. (across from H-E-B)
