Animal Shelter

The Health, Code Enforcement and Animal Control Department enforces all City health ordinances to ensure the health and safety of the general public. The Department conducts inspections of all retail food establishments to ensure compliance with State and Federal health regulations, conducts foodborne illness investigations, enforces code enforcement and property maintenance ordinances including overgrown grass, health and sanitation issues, addresses bee insect complaints and controls the mosquito populations by spraying and larviciding for mosquitoes. The Department also provides the citizens of Mission with animal control services and operates the Mission Animal Shelter in strict compliance with all applicable state regulations.
