The City of Mission has 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant located south of the Expressway on Highway 107 and Conway. The plant is capable of treating 9.0 million gallons of wastewater/sewage daily, but the average flow is 6.2 million gallons daily. In a year, the plant treats approximately 2.2 billion gallons of wastewater. The plant is an activated sludge plant that uses ultraviolet light to disinfect instead of chlorine. All of the operations of this plant are under the strict monitoring of applicable state and federal agencies.
