The City of Mission announces it will file a lawsuit to overturn a decision by TMLIRP to deny our Mission Firefighter his workers’ comp benefits.

The City of Mission announces it will file a lawsuit to overturn a decision by TMLIRP to deny our Mission Firefighter his workers’ comp benefits.
 
“The City supports him, the Community supports him, and we are filing this lawsuit to get our Employee his benefits.” Mission City Manager Martin Garza.
 
Mayor Beto Salinas, City Manager and City Attorney traveled to Austin to meet with TMLIRP representatives, in an attempt to obtain payment for his benefits.
 
“We made it very clear the City expects our Employee to receive his benefits.” – Mission City Manager Martin Garza.
 
The Mission City Council has now authorized the hiring of outside counsel to assist in this legal process. The City of Mission, in conjunction with the Mission Fire Fighters Association, and the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters, will continue to work to ensure our Employee is properly and fairly taken care of.
