U.S. Army Specialist Alex Daniel Gonzalez of Mission, TX, paid the ultimate sacrifice on May 6, 2008, at the age of 21, when his vehicle encountered small arms fire and a rocket-propelled grenade attack in Mosul, Iraq. Gonzalez was assigned to the 43rd Combat Engineer Company, 3rd Armory Calvary Regiment , Fort Hood TX.
