Mission Parents: Register your kids for our Speer Memorial Library’s Halloween Costume Contest.

It’s that time of the year when ghosts, goblins, and friendly monsters inhabit Speer Memorial Library to participate in our annual Halloween costume contest. The costume contest will be judged on the Most Original, Most Appealing and Best of Show costume entry. The entries will be awarded in five categories: Toddlers (1-3 years old and must be able to walk), Pre-K – Kinder, 1st- 2nd, 3rd-4th and 5th- 6th grade friendly monsters.
The costume contest will be held in the Children’s Department on October 23rd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, participants are to pre-register before the event for further entry guidelines. Registrations are ongoing in the department and may be received until 4:00 pm on the day of the contest. A prerequisite for each entry is no grotesque or inappropriate costumes allowed.
Speer Memorial Library is located at 801 E. 12th St. in Mission (Kika De la Garza Loop). The library is open (except on Holidays) Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 8:00 am till 5:00 pm and from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday.
