The City of Mission has declared November as “Self Defense Awareness Month” – with the purpose of educating citizens, especially women and teens, about realistic self defense options that could save their lives. Through personal self defense education and training, citizens can be empowered with the right knowledge and the correct tools to STOP a potentially life altering event and prevent a criminal act from negatively impacting their lives. Self defense is not always about fighting back – It is also about applying quick thinking and de-escalating methods to the situation in order to get away. We encourage citizens to educate themselves on self defense.
