Mission launching community calendar
The City of Mission is excited to launch a community-generated events calendar.
The new Mission Community Calendar is a great way to let people know about an event, gain a larger audience or simply find out what is happening in Mission. The calendar debuted this week and allows people to publicize activities, community events, fundraisers and meetings all in one central location.
“For a while we have been hearing that Mission needed to have one central calendar for all of the great things happening in our community,” City Manager Randy Perez said. “This will be a one-stop shop for all the activities and events that are happening in Mission.”
A few examples of events that can be submitted to the Mission Community Calendar include: fundraising events for non-profit agencies or schools, informational seminars or meetings, plays and concerts.
The Community Calendar is for events open to the public in the Mission area. The easy-to-navigate site is designed to be read on tablets, phones and home devices. The calendar will be moderated by the City, and all items must be approved before they are posted online. It is not for solicitation of commerce such as garage sales or grand openings, nor political functions.
Residents can access the community calendar tab and upload their submissions on https://missiontexas.us/community-calendar-full/.
