Mission hosting Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting – 33rd annual holiday lights and delights will run two days
Ring in the season with Mayor Dr. Armando O’Caña and Mission city leaders. The City of Mission will kick off the holiday season with the Mayor’s Annual Tree Lighting and this year, the celebration will again run two days. The public is invited to Leo Peña Placita Park on Friday, Nov. 19, and Saturday Nov. 20, for a FREE event for the entire family. A special tree lighting will highlight the holiday spectacular on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
“The holiday season is so special because it is a time when our community comes together with friends and family to celebrate peace, love and joy,” Mayor O’Caña said. “After having to host a virtual Mayor’s Tree Lighting in 2020, we are excited to be back in person in 2021. Join us for a magical night including entertainment by our local school districts and a special visit from Santa Claus!”
The 2-day event will also include choir performances, moon jumps, life-sized Christmas cards for selfies, live music, games, food and craft vendors, toy raffles and plenty of family friendly entertainment.
