Join us at the Mission Historical Museum on Saturday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. for a lecture by Dr. Mayra Avila of UTRGV entitled La Pena Negra: The Experience of Men and Women during the Bracero Program. Dr. Avila will detail the experiences of women and children in the wake of men’s absence during the Bracero Program, as well as how the Mexican consulate dealt with Bracero treatment and death.
