Mission firefighters give hands-on and classroom training to our Mexican counterparts.
During the City’s International Training for Emergency Vehicle Driving, Mission Firefighters hosted firefighters from our Sister Cities in Mexico. Our firefighters taught the Mexican counterparts their skills and knowledge on both maneuvering and maintaining rescue vehicles. -
It is not too late to register for our Mission Folklorico Summer Classes.
The Mission Boys and Girls Club hosts the classes every Tuesday and Thursday for beginners and every Wednesday for the more advanced. The fee is $20 dollars per month and classes last all summer long. To register: 585-3606. -

Mission Crime Stoppers hosts a golf tournament at our Shary Golf Course to raise funds for the needy in our community and put an end to crime.
All proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to support various community programs in Mission. One of the primary Crime Stoppers programs purchases school supplies for children in our area who can not afford basic supplies. Thank you to everyone who showed up to support our great city. -
City Hall will be closed in honor of Veteran’s Day.
Veteran’s Day is Tuesday 11/11/14, and to pay tribute to those who have served, and are currently serving, our City Hall will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day. -
Our Mission Historical Museum hosts the Texas Association of Museums during its tour of Texas, and one stop in the Rio Grande Valley.
The Mission Historical Museum proudly hosted the Texas Association of Museum’s Writing for Impact: Framework for Interpretive Writing, a one-day workshop focused on making interpretation more effective and engaging to the public. This was an opportunity for those seeking to increase traffic to tourism sites in and around their communities. -

More than 2,000 people came out to enjoy Mission’s 2nd Annual Fall Festival! –That’s up nearly 900 from last year. Thanks to all who joined in on the festivities — It was a safe night full of food, fun, and entertainment! -
