MISSION FOOD PARK CELEBRATES BLACK FRIDAY WITH WEEKEND-LONG SHOPPING EVENT

MISSION, TX, NOV 20, 2020: Mission Food Park will host a special Black Friday celebration next weekend, beginning Friday, November 27. This three-day event, named “Small Business Market Days”, will include Friday’s “Moonlight Market”, “Small Business Saturday”, and “Pups at the Park”, a Sunday afternoon event.

Mission Food Park is located at the CEED building on Bryan Rd. and US Business 83. Small Business Market Days was created in partnership with the Mission Economic Development Corporation to help promote small business and provide a safer environment for families to venture out this holiday weekend.

“There’s no denying that small businesses have faced a difficult year,” said Daniel Rivera, Director of Programs and Marketing of the Mission EDC. “This is our way of promoting our local businesses and encouraging the community to come out and shop local in a safe, fun environment that has space to accommodate the whole family. Events like this have the power to really make a difference in how this season goes for these small businesses. We are happy to do our part.”

Friday night’s Moonlight Market will include an artisan’s market and other goods, and crafts for sale. Small Business Saturday will welcome local vendors and Mission Food Park’s regular food truck line-up, as well as live music at on-site 5×5 Brewing Co. Lastly, the weekend will conclude with “Pups at the Park,” a Sunday afternoon event where pets are welcome.

Current CDC recommendations advise socializing outdoors to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Mission Food Park’s ample outdoor space provides a safe environment for families, with various safety measures implemented throughout the grounds including face mask requirements and hand sanitizing stations.

“We are aware that cases of COVID-19 are rising in our communities,” said Rivera. “This is why we feel it is so important that we give families an alternative option beyond indoor shopping this Black Friday. We are doing everything we can to ensure a safe environment for everyone who attends this great three-day event.”

Mission’s CEED (Center for Education and Economic Development) is a dedicated coworking space for small businesses, remote workers, non-profits, and a variety of other organizations. From locally brewed coffee to phone booths, conference rooms, and thousands of square feet of open workspace, the CEED is ideal for promoting Mission’s growing business landscape.
