The City of Mission in partnership with local community sponsors, is hosting a Mass Food Distribution on Tuesday, March 9 at the Mission Event Center. Local leaders and business owners donated the resources to purchase the food from the RGV Food Bank.

Mission residents can drive to the event to receive a 20 lb. box of assorted dry foods, protein, water and fresh produce. Actual contents may vary depending on availability. No registration is required.

 

As a COVID-19 precaution, the food distribution will be a drive-thru model and volunteers will place food into each vehicle’s trunk. There will be no walk-up distribution — to adhere to social distancing requirements. Drivers are asked to line up on Victoria Drive. The distribution begins at 8:30 a.m. until supplies run out.
