We thank him for his service to our Community and wish him a bright and Blessed future! The City of Mission recognized several volunteers and agencies who helped our City and residents during recovery efforts from the recent storms, including: TX DPS, TX Parks and Wildlife, All Hands and Hearts, Flora Flores/Irma Flores, Debbie Alvarez, Hidalgo Co. Sheriff’s Office, Home Depot, TX Conservation Corps/AmeriCorps, Garcia Family, Catholic Mission Trips Group from Iowa, and Cross Church. Thank you for caring about our Community! Our Mission Mayor and City Council recognized Mission Police Officers for their promotions: Jody Tittle promoted to Assistant Chief of Police. Javier Ramon promoted to Lieutenant. Join us at our Mission Hike and Bike Trails for Mission Regional Medical Center’s 3rd Annual Ride Safe – in recognition of Bicycle Safety Awareness Day! July 14th, 7:30AM to 11AM. The event is FREE. In conjunction with the Ride Safe event, the City of Mission is also hosting a “CLEAN-UP THE TRAILS” volunteer event. Volunteers are needed to clear debris, trim trees, and pick-up trash inside our Mission Hike and Bike Trails from 7:30AM to 11AM. The City of Mission is hosting a Vaccine Clinic with the RGV Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic on Saturday, July 14th, from 8AM to 11AM, at our Mission Parks and Recreation Center. “The City has been very helpful supporting us, they’ve given us a building that allows our volunteers to come and stay and from there we are able to coordinate all of our efforts. The City has been great about picking up the debris that we take out, and it’s rare to see stuff like that.” – All Hands and Hearts Volunteer. The City of Mission is so thankful to have the All Hands and Hearts – Smart Response Team of Volunteers in Mission! After winning multiple tournaments throughout the RGV, the 4, 5 and 6 year old Softball Girls are headed to Laredo, while the 5 and 6 year old Baseball Shetland Boys are headed to Youngsville, LA! Let’s support these champions as they make history and represent the City of Mission on the World Stage! Happy Independence Day! This Mission Pawsible Pet, who was dumped at our Mission Animal Control, is fully enjoying her freedom at her new home in New Jersey! It’s almost time for our Mission Historical Museum’s Summer Movies on the Lawn Series! This year each movie will be shown at a different location around the City! Activities will begin at the time specified on the flyer and the movies will play at sunset. Don’t forget your blankets and lawn chairs! “All Hands and Hearts” Volunteers are hard at work in Mission helping our Residents recover from the devastating floods! All Hands and Hearts is a non-profit organization that responds to disasters around the world, and provides free clean-up to homeowners who need help with debris clean-up, gutting, and sanitizing for mold. Mission Residents needing help can contact the group at 978-799-4508. Local volunteers who would like to join the group during the day can contact our City of Mission Civil Service Director Jesse Lerma at 451-0303. This senior dog, named Spirit, was dumped at our Mission Animal Control – in terrible condition. Through our Mission Pawsible Program, a Rescuer found Spirit a transport to New Jersey where a loving family adopted her! Thank you to this family for providing a home for this senior dog – the hardest kind of dog to place! You can make a difference in the life of an animal, too. Here’s another “Pawsitive” story from our Mission Pawsible! Three Great Danes were surrendered by their owner and dropped off at our Mission Pawsible. An Animal Rescuer rescued all three of them and found them a transport to New Jersey where they have found their forever families! Aquí hay otra historia “Pawsitive” de nuestra Mission ¡Pawsible!
