The City of Mission Mayor and City Council recognized our Office of the City Secretary for earning the Texas Department of State Health Services’ 5-Star “Exemplary” Award! Mission’s Office of the City Secretary received the honor at the 61st Annual Texas Vital Statistics Annual Conference held in Austin. The City of Mission was one of only three awarded to the RGV Local Registrars. We had a great time raising money for our Boys and Girls Club of Mission at the 1st Annual Skeet Shoot! Mission Museum had a full house at “The Life of Tom Landry” lecture presented by Mission native (original landmark mural artist) Manuel Hinojosa. Mission held its traditional Royal Reception Ball as part of the 79th Annual Texas Citrus Fiesta! Congratulations to our Mission Police Department’s Ruben Gaytan! The Department held a Badge Pinning Ceremony, promoting Gaytan to a Sergeant! Through our City of Mission’s Community Development Block Grant Program, two more Mission families have received houses. We congratulate them on their new homes! Hundreds of residents came out for Mission’s 21st Annual Community Health Fair and took part in free health screenings. Our Mayor and City Council presented plaques to City of Mission Employees, recognizing those who have given 20, 25, 30 & 35 years of service to our great City!
